UCF is centrally located in the state of Florida making us perfectly situated to launch a bold new center – UCF Coastal – to transform research about human-induced and natural changes in coastal systems and discover new solutions.
Please join us by making a gift to support our students and faculty in this work. You can direct your support to one of our field research sites, support our graduate students, or just provide critical dollars for our programs.
No matter the size of your gift or the area you support, you will be making a difference now and for future generations who will visit, live and work in our beautiful coastal communities.
General UCF Coastal Fund
Specific needs change with time but a gift to the UCF Coastal Center could include helping with community outreach, graduate student scholarships and field research sites. One community partnership site currently being developed is based in Key West, FL. Working with Fury Water Adventures, The Nature Conservancy and Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary we are developing outreach education programs and getting involved in basic research in the region’s reef ecology and impacts on ecotourism economy.

Give NowEconfina River Field Research Fund
In a first of its kind, the UCF Coastal Center has partnered with the Econfina River State Park in Taylor County, Florida. This unique partnership between UCF Coastal and a State park will allow our researchers and graduate students access to the Big Bend coast of Florida. This is the marshy coast on the east side of Apalachee Bay. The park protects a mosaic of diverse landscapes, including the Econfina River that meanders through pine flatwoods and oak-palm forests, to broad expanses of salt marsh dotted with pine islands before it reaches the Gulf of Mexico. Expanding our field research and teaching capabilities is a priority for our Center and this region gives us access to an amazing pristine part of old Florida with research potential in disciplines as diverse as archaeology, coastal engineering, biology and ecotourism.
