Joseph Schmidt
Climate Project Manager, The Nature Conservancy
As a Climate Project Manager, Joseph Schmidt is responsible for development, implementation, and expansion of nature-based solutions to address coastal flood risk mitigation and promote climate adaptation in Florida. He also supports the advancement of collaborative partnerships and interactions with elected and appointed government officials, corporate representatives, non-profit organizations, media, and other key constituencies in support of The Nature Conservancy’s 50-State Climate Action Initiative as well as the Florida Chapter’s Inspiring Climate Action Strategy. Joseph has fifteen years of experience managing water resource and ecosystem restoration projects, with five of those years coordinating with regional and local governments as well as various stakeholders to address environmental challenges within the greater Everglades ecosystem. Joseph graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Batchelor degree in Environmental Engineering, and he has been a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida for 10 years.
