Senator Linda Stewart has lived in Orlando her entire life and has been a long-time community activist. She served as Orange County Commissioner from 2002 to 2010, representing district 4. During her two terms on the County Commission, Senator Stewart was known as “the People’s Leader” for her straightforward talk and common sense. As Commissioner, she also worked with various other services in Orange County to promote better transportation infrastructure, public access to greenspaces, and citizen involvement in the election process. From 2012 to 2014, she served a term in the Florida House of Representatives, representing central Orange County District 47. Currently, she is a member of the Florida Senate, representing the 13th district, which includes northeast and central Orange County. As a member of the State Senate, she continues to work and fight for the underprivileged, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, education, common sense gun laws, improved public transportation infrastructure, and to protect our environment for future generations. Senator Stewart serves as the Vice-Chair of the Florida Senate’s Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
